Christmas at Hogwarts
As Christmas is approaching, one thing almost everybody does to get in the Holiday-mood is cook and bake their favourite foods that help them ease into this lovely last part of a long year.
As children, we all
wished to spend Christmas and the New Year’s at Hogwarts at one point, and now
as adults we can at least bring some of the Wizarding World’s appetizing,
magical meals to the table.
During this time we spend a lot of time at home, but now, due to the pandemic, you might not be able to travel to see your loved ones and do the usual holiday activities with them. Making these foods might bring a new way of celebration, while reminding us of our childhood. You can add the ingredients to your usual shopping list, so you don't have to go out of your way to get anything and you can do this at home, while social distancing.
For these reasons, I
have collected the best recipes that mimic the foods of the Harry Potter
series. Feel free to make them and DM us the pictures on our Instagram or duet it
on one of our Harry Potter related videos on TikTok.
Before we get
started here’s some Harry Potter Winter music to listen to while in the
kitchen.
1. 1. Pumpkin Pasties
This cute baked good can serve as an appetizer or a snack while watching our favourite movies (Harry Potter or something holiday related). The Domestic Geek’s recipe is easy enough to follow, and the result is magically delicious.
2. 2. Harry Potter
Christmas feast
Bradley Bakes created this amazing recipe of the
turkey feast with roasted vegetables and lightning-bolt stuffing with some gravy.
The video itself is mouth-watering to watch and the recipe is worth making,
even if you don’t care about the Harry Potter theme all that much.
3. 3. Butterbeer
This
Butter Beer recipe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LipEIv_6ZOk) will help get
you started to ease into the Hogwarts Holiday Mood. It tastes exactly like the
one at the studio tour, which makes me think it also tastes like the one in the
Wizarding World. It’s good to snack on while we re-watch our favourite Harry
Potter movies while cosying up in our blanket between Christmas and New Year’s.
It also works amazingly as a dessert after the turkey feast.
4. 4. Treacle Tart
Harry’s
favourite dessert (https://youtu.be/rcopjs4WenU)
will for sure be one of our favourites as well. Easy and rather quick to make
as well with just a few ingredients, it is the perfect way to make the
Christmas Feast whole. You must make this tart for it to truly feel like
Christmas at Hogwarts.
