Halloween Special


Halloween celebrated each year on October 31, this year it will occur on a Saturday. This tradition originally meant to ward off ghosts. Over time it evolved into activities like carving pumpkin, trick-or-treating and it also made an impact on the film industry. That’s the reason why we gathered a few Halloween themed movies broken down into categories. Even those who don’t like the scary part of this holiday could find something to watch.

So here are some movies for kids and some spooky ones as well, which are perfect for this time of the year:


For kids:

1. Monster House (2006) 10+

It’s an animated movie about a couple of teens who discover that their neighbour’s house is alive.

2. The House With a Clock in Its Walls (2018) 11+

A boy and his uncle must hide a magical clock which can bring about the end of the world where no one can discover it.

The well-known toys are spending the night at a roadside motel, where they have to figure out a mystery.

6. ParaNorman (2012) 10+

It takes a misunderstood boy to save the town from an old curse. He has to take on ghosts, zombies and even grown-ups in order to save his home.

7. Frankenweenie (2012) 9+

When the boy’s dog passes away, he tries to bring his best friend back with the power of thunderstroke.

8. Dear Dracula (2012) 6+

Dracula gains back his self-confidence after visiting the neighbourhood Halloween party.

9. Coraline (2009) 12+

A hidden door leads Coraline to her dream life, but she didn’t realize the downside and horror it may also has.

A musician enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, who was a legendary singer.






Horror-comedy movies:

1. BOO A Madea Halloween (2016)

Malhea spends a haunted Halloween fending off killers, ghosts, ghouls and zombies and she also has to keep an eye on her wild teenage great-niece.

A man’s boring life turns into a struggle of survival when zombies are coming.

The two guys spending their vacation at a cabin in the mountain when they get mistaken for murderers.

A former child star torments her paralyzed sister in their mansion in Hollywood.

7. The Amityville Horror (1979)

A couple moves to a house however the previous tenants were murdered. Said to be based on a true story.

8. Get out (2017)

An African-American boy visits his white girlfriend’s home, but the parents reception of him leads to a breaking point.

9. Pet Sematary (1989)

A grieving father discovers a burial ground behind his house which can bring back the dead.

10. Sleepy Hollow (1999)

An investigation begins is Sleepy Hallow because of the decapitation of 3 people. Turns out a legendary apparition is the culprit.
